District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today visited Border block Seri and listened to issues and demands of several delegations at a public outreach programme held  as part of weekly Block Diwas program. Block Development Chairperson, Neena Sharma; DDC Member, Sangeeta Sharma; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; DFO, Neelima; CPO, Mohd Khurshid; CMO, Dr Shamim in Nissa Bhatti; District Officers of various departments and PRIs of concerned blocks also participated in the outreach camp.Sarpanches, Panches and the general public of the adjoining Panchayats projected several demands and problems during the camp.Specific demands which were projected during the program included strengthening of the internal road networks, BDC funds for seri; pending Mid-day Meal Funds; Grid Station at Gagrote; Shortage of staff at High School Kheri; CSR under Mining; Transfer of GRS within Block level; Sheep Centre at Dabbar Potha etc.Other issues include Agriculture Centre at Dabbar; Pending wages under MGNREGA; Dabbar Potha Bagnoti Nallah Bridge; panchayat wise Revenue camps; Block level camps for pensioners; Upgradation of Girls Middle School seri and Boundary wall; Dental equipment at PHC Seri; Ambulance for PHC Seri; Transformers at Ward No. 05.Public also demanded the start of seri sayal water supply scheme; Obsolete water pipes to be replaced; left out beneficiaries under Awaas Plus to be included; Shadow areas to be included; Upgradation of Middle school Kalal; online procedure for ration cards; separate educational zone for seri and other issues about different departments.The DC gave a patient hearing to the public demands and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances at the earliest.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC said that the District Administration is working on a multi-pronged strategy to ensure the inclusive, substantial and holistic development of all the sections of the society and concrete measures are being taken for peace, prosperity and development of the region.Underlining the measures being taken to cover all the eligible beneficiaries under the Forest Right Act, the DDC told that so far, three meetings of the DLC have been convened in the district and as many as 477 claims have been cleared and strict instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities for the coverage of all eligible left out beneficiaries under the Act.Regarding enhancing the female literacy rate in the district, he informed that the work on 100 percent enrollment of school left out girls is in progress, besides he also urged the public to motivate the girls of their areas to go to schools and the panchayat should take the onus of it.Stressing on the need for improving nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers, he said that it is ‘our social and moral responsibility to ensure that nutritional diet is made available to the targeted groups to achieve the aim of making Rajouri a malnutrition free district. He further said that special awareness camps would also be organised to educate the masses about the importance of a balanced diet.Highlighting the achievements of the PDD sector, the DDC apprised the gathering that 02 receiving stations would be completed by November and 20 receiving stations have been completed so far.While talking about the progress regarding the constitution of the youth clubs, he informed that youth clubs have been constituted and made functional in all the panchayats of the district and concrete measures are being taken to address the genuine concerns of the youth on a priority and make them partners in the developmental process.

Enumerating the steps being taken to promote self-employment generation activities, the DC said that dedicated efforts are being made to generate more employment avenues to help the unemployed youth by providing them with the necessary platforms so that they can earn on their own and become independent and live a life which is full of confidence."Special training of SHGs for making a craft by using pine needles has recently concluded in the district and the district administration is intending to organise more such training sessions at Sub-divisional and Block levels", the DC observedRegarding the dumping of solid waste in rural areas, the DDC asked the PRIs to formulate the solid waste management plans of their panchayats.DC also said that the Rajouri district has a good climate that could favour ultra High-density plants like citrus and urged the farmers to adopt the latest intervention in this field for maximum benefits.He also highlighted the benefits of the welfare schemes of the labour department and urged the labourers to get themselves registered with the Labour Department to avail the benefits of these schemes.DDC also appealed to the public to get themselves registered under the SEHAT scheme to avail the necessary health benefits of the scheme.He informed that a supplementary BADP plan would also be prepared to cater for the developmental needs of the people living in border areas. He also asked the PMAY beneficiaries to complete their houses in time.DDC asked the officers to take a first-hand appraisal of all the grievances of PRIs and redress the same on priority.He assured the general public that more such public outreach camps would also be organized to solve the genuine problems of the people at their doorsteps.The DC directed all the officers of different departments to organize awareness camps in their respective areas to inform the general public about various government schemes so that they can avail maximum benefits of these schemes.The DC also said that the public outreach drive aims to bring the administration to the doorstep of rural areas.The DDC also handed over six keys of commercial vehicles to unemployed youth under the MUMKIN scheme of the Mission Youth.
