Lok Sabha MP from Jalandhar Chaudhary Santokh Singh today gave a clarion call for restoring the pristine glory of sports in the state to wean away youth from menace of drugs.The Lok Sabha MP, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Jagjit Singh Saroya, inaugurated the newly constructed at Jagjit Wrestling Academy in village Waryana.Chaudhary Santokh Singh said that it is a welcome step that will help in channelising the unbounded energy of youth in a positive direction. He said that it is also the need of hour to give a major fillip to sporting activity in the villages. He also urged the villagers to encourage the youngsters to come forward for joining the arena of sports so that international players are produced from the state.In his address MLA Chaudhary Surinder Singh also praised the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police and international wrestling player Mr Saroya for taking this path breaking initiative. He also said that such initiatives play a vanguard role in inspiring the youth and budding players to join field of sports. Chaudhary Surinder Sjngh also lauded the ADCP for running this academy free of cost.Addressing the gathering ADCP thanked the MP and MLA for visiting the academy. He also apprised the dignitaries about the functioning of the academy.
