In view of ensuing census, Director Census Operations for Punjab Dr. Abhishek Jain on Wednesday directed the officers concerned to initiate requisite preparations and arrangements to accomplish this gigantic task in letter and spirit as the Census would be conducted digitally this time.Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Aashika Jain, the Joint Secretary, Government of India-cum-Director Census Operations, Dr. Abhishek Jain while chairing a meeting with officers/officials said that concordance statement showing the details of administrative units up to enumeration block level should be prepared well within time. He said that the lists of wards, mohallas, colonies, towns should also be prepared and submitted to the Census of India so that the next course of action could be chalked out accordingly.The Director Census also emphasised the need for demarcation of newly created villages, wards and colonies in the list to be prepared for census ensuring each and every areas included in this task. He said that the as per the directions of Ministry civil registration system should also be implemented in efficacious manner by complying the directions regarding medical certification of cause of Death (MCCD), which was also mandatory in the upcoming Census. 

He said that mentioning of cause of death is mandatory whether the death was taken place at hospitals including institutional or non-institutional. He also informed that the enumerators would visit each and every household for census and use their mobile by downloading an app to upload and send real-information digitally. The staff deployed for this purpose, if not well conversant with mobile app or using mobile as per the need, can use manual forms to complete his assignment, he added.Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait described the Census a very significant process and assured the Director that this work would be accomplished in letter and spirit by covering all the areas across district. Additonal Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Aashika Jain apprised that the mapping in the MC limits had already been completed, which could facilitate the emulators during Census. The preparations for the Census are being expedited in time to come, she added.Prominent amongst those present in the meeting included Research Officer (Map)-cum-Incharge CRS Varinder Kaur, Assistant Director from Directorate of Census Operations, Punjab Supriya and officers/officials of departments concerned.CAPTION: Director Census Operations Punjab & Chandigarh Dr. Abhishek Jain along with Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait and ADC (UD) Aashika Jain holding meeting with officers regarding upcoming Census at Hoshiarpur on Wednesday.
