The Rank Ceremony for National Cadet Corps (NCC) of 1st J&K Girls Battalion, Srinagar of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur was held today here on the College Campus.The College Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Minu Mahajan appreciated the efforts of the Associate NCC Officer Shallu Jasrotia and National Cadet Corps(NCC) of the Bn for providing the required platform to the youth. Prof. Mahajan highlighted the role of NCC in nation building besides she congratulated the cadets for their achievements and motivated them to take up careers in defence forces.
The Ranks were conferred to the NCC cadets including Senior under Officer(SUO), Tanisha Mankotia, Junior under officer (JUO), Sonika Sharma Junior under officer (JUO), Kareena Devi, Junior under officer (JUO), Shilpi Kour, Junior under officer (JUO), Kusum Devi, Sergeant Eknoor Kour, Sargeant Kiran Bhatyal respectively.Later, Ranks were awarded to the NCC cadets by Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan in presence of HOD Music Dr. Seema Sharma and other senior faculty members. Besides, the chief guest also felicitated Ex-Senior under Officer(SUO), Sonia Banal for her achievements as the best NCC cadet.Among others, HOD Music, Dr. Seema Sharma, Assistant Professor Zoology(NSS Officer),Sumita Rao, Dr. Kamal, Assistant Professor Geography, Pooja Bharti, Assistant Prof. Music Yash Kumar and other faculty members and NCC cadets were present on the occasion.
