Punjab Vidhan Sabha Committee submits report regarding atrocities on farmers in Delhi to Speaker

Visits Ludhiana, Moga, Bathinda, Sangrur, Mansa, Nawanshehar, Jalandhar and Amritsar Districts

Special committee of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, constituted for probing into the atrocities by Delhi Police on farmers, youth and others in the aftermath of incidents on January 26th, 2021, today submitted its report to the Speaker Rana KP Singh.Divulging the details a spokesperson of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha said that this committee was constituted by Speaker following demands of members in house on March 5, 2021. The committee, was formally formed on March 30, with Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid as it’s chairperson and MLAs Mr Kulbir Singh Zira, Mr Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Ms Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and Mr Harinderpal Singh Chandumajra as it’s members.

This committee had visited Ludhiana, Moga, Bathinda, Sangrur, Mansa, Nawanshehar, Jalandhar and Amritsar to meet farmers and the youth. The committee recorded the statements of the affected youth and farmers in the report so that it can be sent to the state government through the Vidhan Sabha. The Chairperson of committee Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid along with members Mr Zira and Mr Chandumajra handed over this report to the Speaker.Meanwhile, Rana KP Singh said that the report will be sent to the Punjab government through proper channel to ensuring justice to the victims.
