To Increase Security And Safety District Police Kick-Starts SBS Nagar District Safety Project

Adopting zero tolerance policy against crime and any nuisance, the SBS Nagar Police led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sh. Harmanbir Singh Gill IPS launched District Safety Project introducing 23 Hi-tech motor cycles and deployed Police personnel equipped with weapons, wireless set, baton, beat book and other necessary equipment for 24*7 surveillance of the city area in the district. Area of City Nawanshahr has been divided into 10 beats, Banga City 04 beats and Balachaur city 04 beats respectively. SSP Gill also introduced an immediate response help line number 95646-95646. The project was formally launched by MLA Balachaur Chaudhary Darshan Lal Mangupur and SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill at District Police Complex here.To ensure the safety of the rural area and quick response by the Police in any emergency 08 RRPRS vehicles have been inaugurated. These vehicles will do 24*7 patrolling at the stretches distributed in alignment with the area of Police stations covering all major routes. After area patrolling these vehicles will get stationed at sealing points with strong barricading. For every vehicle one lady constable and two male constables well equipped with weapons, wireless set, cones and other necessary material have been deployed.

Considering that the district has long state highway stretch these patrolling vehicles have been ushered in to make quick response in case of accident or any emergency. The staff deployed will keep tie up with Ambulance and will be responsible for removing any obstruction in smooth flow of traffic. They will also carry comprehensive information of all the vital installations, VIPs, POs, BCs i.e the total knowledge of area and populace in beat book. Emphasizing on creating safe environment for women, children and youth SSP Gill said that along with these patrolling vehicles four (04) scooters with lady force deployed will also cover all the Schools, Colleges and Market to ensure zero tolerance policy against Drug mafia, Eveteasing and Snatching.SSP Gill further told that 24*7 patrolling by PCR Motor Cycles and (RRPRS) vehicles will play instrumental role in prevention of crime, tackling the law and order situations in view of upcoming elections, in protests and agitation.Chairman District Planning Committee Mr. Satvir Singh Palli Jhikki, Jarnail Singh Wahad, Lalit Mohan Pathak, Ramandeep Singh Thiara and others were present.
