Doda District has achieved 100% Covid vaccination in 45 + age group and 74% population have been inoculated at least with one dose in the 18 plus category, while positivity rate in the district has dipped to 0.35%.The district administration is also ensuring strict enforcement of Covid safety guidelines including the ceiling of 25 persons on social gatherings, said Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma at a press conference held here at DC office, the other day.He further said officer Incharge of the government department violating ceiling norms will be held personally responsible for violation. Further the public has to intimate the concerned Tehsildar about a social function in advance and ensure the gathering as per the ceiling.The DC said that violation of Covid appropriate behaviour will be unacceptable and to curb the violations in toto, the District Administration, in coordination with Police department, has already taken stern measures including aggressive surveillance in the market places for implementation of the CAB and imposing fine for not wearing masks, not maintaining social distancing etc.
The district administration has also launched an intensive IEC campaign to educate the masses.The DC also said that developing the habit of following CAB especially in the public and market places is the only way to contain the spread of this deadly virus. He said the shopkeepers need to follow social distancing norms religiously in their shops, while the people should avoid unnecessary visit to the market. He said night curfew has also been maintained and is being enforced strictly.Regarding the status of Covid positive cases, the DC apprised that presently there are around 100 positive cases in the district out of which 10 are under treatment in hospitals and 90 asymptomatic persons are in home isolation. The positivity rate has dipped to 0.35 percent in the district, he added. SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed, SP Bhaderwah Abdul Qayoom, ASP (Hqr) Raj Kumar were also present at the press conference.
