District Information Centre Shopian today organized a day long Mehfil-e-Mushaira in collaboration with Media Centre Shopian here at Media Centre Office in Shopian in which many eminent poets recited their poetic collections.On the occasion, District Information Officer Shopian Showkat Ahmad Khan who was the chief guest, lauded poets, poetess and writers for their contribution towards the promotion of Kashmiri culture and literature.DIO said that such functions shall be held in future as well as they provide a platform to literary and creative activities and help in flourishing the cultural heritage.The program was presided over by Gulzar Habib, Ajaz Dar, Firdous Lone and  president of Media Centre Shopian Irshad Malik During the Mushaira, Gulzar Habib, Irshad Malik, Ajaz Dar, Firdous Lone, Nazir Wani, Raja Zaid, Sareer Dar,  Mohammad Qasim, Nisar Khanday, Mohsin Khanday Naik Dawood, Shahid Tak , Mir Sajad and other poets recited their poetry which enthralled the audience.The organisers said that such functions shall be held in future as well as provide a platform to literary and creative activities and help in their nourishment.It was a first occasion in Shopian when Mushaira was  held where media persons participated in the mushaira.Later the president of Media Centre Shopian hailed the active support of the District Information Centre Shopian for its support in organising such an event.
