A state-of-the-art Maharishi Valmik Panorama (Museum) depicting the life history and teachings of Maharishi Valmik, the author of the Ramayana, will soon be set up and dedicated to the public.The concept of museum,drafted by the expert committee of historians was today approved in a meeting chaired by the Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister for Cultural Affairs.Disclosing this here today Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that it would cost around Rs.  25 crore. He said that the long pending demand of the people belonged to valmiki community would now soon be fulfilled who were urging the government that a state-of-the-art museum depicting the history, life and teachings of Maharishi Valmik, the author of the Ramayana, should be set up so that the world could know about his great personality and teachings.  He said that  the tenders for the setting up of the museum will be floated soon as the concept of the museum is approved.Prominent amongst thise who were present at the meeting included Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Kanwalpreet Brar, Director, Department of Cultural Affairs, Mr. Yogesh Gupta, Chief Engineer, Department of Cultural Affairs, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Chaana, Xen Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board and other senior officials of the department.
