The Independence Day celebrations were marked by National Flag hoisting, National Anthem singing and awareness programmes across the District Courts in Jammu Division.
Udhampur Court
Udhampur Judiciary celebrated 75th Independence Day where at Principal District & Session judge Y .P Bourney unfurled the Tri-colour in the presence of Additional session Judge S .C Katal , Sub judge CJM B A Munshi , Sub judge , Secretary DLSA Rajni Sharma, District Mobile Magistrate Shafeeq Ahmed , Bar president J D Slathia, Bar Members, prosecution wing and ministerial staff. Y P Bourney, while congratulating the participants said that we have achieved this freedom after long struggle and a number of freedom fighters have sacrificed their lives for it. He appealed to the people to work together for the development and prosperity of our nation.
Reasi Court
As per the directions of the High Court of UT of J&K and Ladakh, the 75th Independence Day was celebrated in District Court Complex (HeadQuarter) Reasi with full Zeal & enthusiasm. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National flag by R. N. Watal, Principal District & Sessions Judge Reasi (also Chairman District Legal Services Authority Reasi) which was followed by reciting of the National Anthem by the gathering present in the event. In his presidential address, the Principal District & Sessions Judge greeted the gathering and threw light on the importance of the day. President Bar Association Reasi also spoke on the occasion, while Advocate M.S Mir presented a patriotic song. The program was also attended by Sub-Judge Katra, CJM , Reasi , Secretary District Legal Services Authority , Munsiff Katra , Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Reasi , Public Prosecutor of Sessions Court Reasi, President Bar Association Reasi, members of the Bar Association, judicial Staff members & PLVs. The overall proceedings of the program were conducted by Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Reasi. A light tea was also served to the gathering.
Meanwhile, the District Legal Services Authority organized an Online Slogan writing and Painting competition in which the students of different standards of Government High Schools of Nomain and Saloon of District Reasi, zealously participated and displayed their talent. Megha Bharti of class 10 (Govt. High School, Nomain) bagged 1st prize; Aman Suri, Class 10 bagged 2nd prize and Ritika Raina (class 10) of Govt. High School Saloon won 3rd prize. Rest of the students were awarded appreciation certificates by the District Legal Services Authority, Reasi.Besides this as a part of 75th week of ‘Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, which commenced on 12th of March, 2021 ‘Individual Rendering’ of the National Anthem by the Officers, Panel Advocates , Staff & PLVs of District Legal Services Authority was uploaded on the Official Website at https: //rashtragaan.in/. The District Legal Services Authority Reasi in collaboration with District Child Protection Unit Reasi also organised weeklong awareness camps on Child Rights, Drawing Competitions and Child Labour drives in District Reasi.
District Court Doda
In compliance to orders issued by the Chief Justice High court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, a Flag hoisting ceremony was organised on 75th Independence Day at District court complex Doda.Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary hoisted the National Flag and took Ceremonial salute by the contingent of District Police . The Additional District and Sessions Judge also spoke on the occasion. Sheikh Babar Hussain, District Mobile Magistrate conducted the proceedings of the event and vote of thanks was presented by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Prem Sagar. The function was attended by Additional Spl Mobile Magistrate, Neena Thakur, members from the Bar, all staff members, representatives from Police and administration. Besides this patriotic songs were sung by famous singers and staff members.
