The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad on Tuesday visited District Hospital Bandipora to inspect patient care, medical services being provided to the patients and to review the road map for establishment of fully functional Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital.The DC was accompanied by Dr Jatinder Mehta, UT Level Nodal Officer, NHM, besides other officers of the Health Department. During the visit, the DC inspected various wards of the hospital and also interacted with the patients, attendants and enquired from them about the facilities being provided to them in the hospital. On the occasion, the DDC was briefed by concerned officers of the health department about the stocks of medicines available and other facilities being provided to the patients.Dr Owais chaired a meeting of health officials to review the arrangements for establishment of the fully functional ICU and up-gradation of laboratory facilities in the DH Bandipora.Officers briefed the DC about the arrangements and put forward the Detailed Report with regard to the establishment of fully functional ICU and laboratory facilities. He assured every possible support from the district administration in establishment of these units and said he is in touch with the higher authorities to ensure the ICU is established at earliest.Dr Owais hailed the healthcare workers for working tirelessly during the ongoing pandemic and said that the contribution of healthcare workers to fight pandemic will be remembered and appreciated by one and all for years to come.He exhorted upon the concerned to ensure that the roaster is strictly followed and patients are taken care of with utmost dedication and sincerity at the institution.
