To review progress of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department, the District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav today chaired a meeting here at conference Hall of DC Office Complex .Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atul Gupta; CDPOs, Supervisors and field functionaries of ICDS attended the meeting.The DDC reviewed implementation of the Ladli Beti scheme under which the UT government deposits a certain amount in the account of the girl child born on or after 1st April 2015 to the parents with only Rs 75000 annual income.The DDC clarified that the benefits of the scheme will be provided to the girl child whose parents possess the Domicile Certificate of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.  He directed the officers to take in consideration the Domicile certificate instead of Permanent resident Certificate (PRC) for the Ladli beti Scheme. He stressed on creating awareness among eligible people regarding the scheme so that the maximum number of people get the benefit.

He also called for revision of income criteria of the beneficiaries and said that the benefits of the scheme will cease for those whose income has risen beyond the prescribed ceiling.The DDC laid stress on creating awareness among the common masses about benefits of the COVID-19 Vaccination programme to motivate them to get themselves vaccinated. He directed the CDPOs to mobilize the field functionaries to encourage the people to go for vaccination.Later, the DDC reviewed progress under various self employment schemes implemented by District Industries Centre, DUDA,  Khadi and Village Industries Board and District Employment and Counseling centre etc .CPO Kathua, GM DIC, Deputy Director District employment and counseling centre, ARTO, Project officer DUDA, District Officer JKEDI, District Officer KVIB and others attended the meeting.The DDC asked the officers to use various social media platforms to create awareness among the youth about the self employment schemes. He asked the officers to start special awareness drives for students of ITI, Polytechnic College and Degree colleges to motivate them for self employment.
