Public health actions such as social distancing are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19 but they can make us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety, which needs to be handled well” she said.She said that the governments are taking stronger measures to contain the spread of covid -19, self quarantine and the temporary closing of business can also affect normal food related practices. Good nutrition is crucial for health particularly in times when the immune system might need to fight back, she suggested. Though no food or dietary supplements can prevent covid-19 infection, but by maintaining a healthy diet we can keep our immune system strong for fighting the disease, she opined further.She suggested eating fresh fruits and vegetables. It is always important to practice good food hygiene like keep clean, avoid eating raw food and cook thoroughly.
