Government has called for active participation of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Youth in Covid-19 mitigation efforts with special focus on vaccination of vulnerable population, information dissemination and promoting Covid appropriate behaviour apart from building capacities in rural areas of  District Doda.In this regard Assistant Commissioner Development Doda Mohammad Idrees Lone held virtual meet with BDC Chairpersons and Sarpanches and briefed them about the initiative aiming at to increase the testing and vaccination especially in rural areas.The ACD Doda urged them to lead from the front alongwith the District Administration so that the people living in the rural areas shall be mobolised to get vaccinated and timely tested if having any Covid symptoms.He also called for formulation of youth groups to carry forward the information and for constructive public engagement.The ACD apprised the participants that Mission Youth J&K has initiated the process to select volunteers at Panchayat level/Block Level and train them for community engagement , public awareness, promotion of vaccination and timely testing , facilitating PRIs , augmenting the efforts of healthcare workers and other initiatives.Meanwhile Keynote speakers Dr Walied Khawar Balwan Assistant Professor GMC Doda and District Epidemologist Umar Anayat khan also interacted with the participants and briefed in detail about the benefits of Vaccination, timely testing and follow of Covid appropriate behaviour.
