Dr Amar Singh MP Shri Fatehgarh Sahib met the Chairman National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Mr Sukhbir Singh (IAS) and put across various demands being raised by farmers whose lands are being acquired for new greenfield Sirhind-Mohali and Ludhiana Bhatinda expressways.During the meeting held at New Delhi, Fair remuneration, access to underpasses-service roads and ensuring continued irrigation for fields divided by expressways was among the various issues discussed.Dr Singh stressed in the meeting that nothing is more important than the welfare of our farmers and requested the Chairman NHAI to ensure that the demands being raised by the landowners be addressed by senior officers at the earliest. The Chairman NHAI assured him that the issues raised by landowners would be addressed at the earliest
