A mega kissan Mela under the soil Health card schemes (NMSA) was today organised by the Agriculture Department in collaboration with Horticulture, animal husbandry department and Banks here at Subash Park Kuleed to aware the farmers community about the various beneficiary oriented schemes.The programme witnessed the participation of about 500 farmers, orcharists and locals from of adjoining areas.District Development Council Chairperson, Pooja Thakur, presided over the programme and DC Kishtwar Ashok Sharma was guest of honour on the occasion.During the programme, the district officers   educated the farmers about the schemes implemented by their respective departments through one to one interactions; distribution of pamphlets, posters, leaflets, handouts and displaying banners and mass awareness using Public Address System.ACR Kishtwar Dr Amir Hussain, BDC chairman Kishtwar Suresh Sharma,LDM Kishtwar Nasir Bhat,Chief Agriculture Officer S K Bhagat,Chief Horticulture officer Mushtaq Ahmed wani,Saffron Development officer Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik,CAHO kishtwar Dr Altaf Hussain besides PRI members remained present on the occasion.DC along with DDC chairperson inspected the stalls installed by various departments displaying their products, tools, booklets, posters and other printed works highlighting the centrally sponsored schemes in agriculture and allied sectors.Around 60 soil health cards, besides tillers and hand pump machines were handed over to the farmers which were sanctioned by the department on 50 percent subsidy.While addressing the gathering ,DC Kishtwar lauded the efforts of the agriculture Department for their enthusiastic efforts in bringing the awareness at the grass root level and reaching out to the farmers in the right manner besides  to redress their grievances timely. In her address, the DDC chairperson urged the public and farmers in particular to come forward to take agriculture sector in the district to new heights.
