Director Sericulture flags-off Farmers’ Tour HP

Director Sericulture J&K, Manzoor Ahmad Qadiri, today flagged off a group of 32 Silkworm Rearers on a training/exposure tour to Palampur Himachal Pradesh, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme-ATMA.The group, part of Capacity Building and Skill Up-gradation programme, left here   in presence of Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Development Officer, SDD, Extension and Trainings Jammu; Subhash Gupta,  Project Executive Officer, SDD, Jammu; Manmeet Kumar, Accounts Officer; SDD, Kulbir Singh and Sanjay Romitra (Escorts) other senior officers of the Department.The Director said that the Department is endeavoring to supplement the resources and capabilities of Silkworm Rearers to boost their economic profile. “Such type of trainings /exposure visits are part of the programmes” he added.During the tour, the Sericulture Farmers will visit CSK Agriculture University Palampur and  Sericulture Farm/Seed Production Centres of the State Sericulture Department of the Himachal Government to get acquainted with the latest Sericulture Technologies being adopted by their counterparts in run up to boost production.
