A mega Placement mela cum Job fair was today organized jointly by the District Skill Committee and ITI College here.As many as 15 companies both from within and outside the UT participated in this job fair to absorb unemployed educated youth.Scores of students participated and appeared for interviews during the job fair, and placement of more than 150 aspirants was carried out.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat presided over the function. He urged the youth to come forward and get benefited by this placement drive.He said that the government employment is shrinking day by day and has very limited scope of job opportunities.The DC reiterated that the private sector has huge potential to absorb unemployed youth and give ample opportunities to build careers of thousands of students.He also highlighted various self employment schemes and urged the youth to avail benefit of these schemes to establish self employment generation units and become entrepreneurs.Companies like KY-Hyundai, Competent Synergies Mohali, Comptech ltd Srinagar, SBI MetLife, ICICI, Asuja services Pvt ltd. valley food industries, Mir Services Kashmir, Al Hafeez agencies, FLP, Jio Care etc participated in the job-fair.
