DDC Doda constitutes Childline Advisory Board

Sets monthly targets for prosecution of child labour cases

District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, today constituted the Childline Advisory Board in the district to review the child protection scenario, here at a meeting of stakeholder departments.During the meeting, the DDC enquired about the routine working profile of the childline institution and also enquired the daily reporting of violation of child rights being communicated to the concerned from across the district, if any.The DDC directed the coordinator to maintain the online database of all the reported cases so that their follow up can be ensured for timely disposal by the concerned authorities.“The role of the CAB is to regulate and evaluate the activities of Childline Doda on monthly basis and also required to endorse suggestions so that the aims and objectives of the institution can be properly ensured,” the DDC added.The DDC directed stakeholder departments viz Police, School Education, ICDS, Social Welfare, Labour, Health  etc to ensure displaying of the ChildLine Helpline no 1098 at all prominent locations of their respective institutions. He directed departments to involve PRI members, NGOs to spread the role and functioning of Childline helpline during awareness drives of departments. especially in rural and far off areas of the district.

He further directed the concerned to frame the schedule of visits to conduct the assessment study of the targeted groups initially i.e in hotels, industrial sector so that the next level approach shall be formulated as per the ground level report acquired during the visit.Moreover, the DDC also directed the CMO Doda to entertain the cases forwarded by childline for medical treatment in any health institution on priority basis, besides directed to entertain the recommendations regarding Children treatment from District Red Cross society positively.The Chief Education Officer was asked to ensure 100% enrollment and zero-dropout in the schools of the district.Taking a strong note of the low rate of cases of child labour being forwarded for prosecution, the DDC set monthly target of child labour cases for prosecutions to Labour department. The ALC was directed to conduct regular field visits to keep check on   violation of child labour  laws anywhere in the district. Among others present at the meeting were SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed; ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma; PO ICDS, Shahida Parveen; CEO Tariq Hussain; CMO, Dr Yaqoob Mir; DSWO, Zubair Ahmed Lone; DIO Doda Mohd Ashraf Wani; ALC, Gansham Das; Coordinator Childline, Meenakshi Raina; District Coordinator MSK Humaira Balwan, besides other concerned.
