DC Kishtwar flags off 30 Orchardists for Horti- Expo 2021

Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today flagged off a group of 30 Orchardists drawn from different zones of the district for their participating in Horti- Expo 2021scheduled to be held on February 21st and 22nd at Gulshan Ground Jammu.Interacting with the Orchardists, the DC Kishtwar highlighted the importance of Horticulture and said that the sector plays an important role in socio economic development of farmer community, besides contributing significantly to economy of the region.He asked Orchardists to get well acquainted with the latest techniques, skills and technical know-how in Horti Expo 2021 and apply the same in their orchards and also aware other farmers as it will facilitate tapping of the Horticulture potential to the full. Chief Horticulture Officer, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, Staff of Horticulture department, and a large number of Orchardists were present on the occasion.The CHO informed that during the Expo the orchardists will be given valuable information about the products and services related to horticulture production, Harvest management, latest techniques and practices of farming.
