Atal Dulloo inaugurates covid vaccination centre at ASCOMS

Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today inaugurated the Covid-19 Vaccination Center here at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital (ASCOMS) Jammu.The Financial Commissioner was accompanied by Dr. Renu Sharma, Director Health Services, Jammu and other health officials. D.K. Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS & Hospital were also present on the occasion.The Financial Commissioner said that currently 162 sites for vaccination are operational in J&K. He said that more than 15000 health workers have already been vaccinated. He emphasized that private hospitals have a role to play and are extending it whenever they are asked by the administration.Dulloo stated that the hesitation among the people regarding the vaccine has subsided and people are now coming forth after gauging the efficiency of the vaccine. He said that the Indian made vaccine is lauded world over for its effectiveness and less adverse effect as it has been made to go through all the time tested trails by our scientists. He said  that this vaccine has been found making the necessary antibodies among the recipients after successful inoculations.The Financial Commissioner announced that 18 more vaccination sites has been started in Jammu from today. He said that it is expected that 10000 inoculations would be made on daily basis in the times to come. He further added that health department is fully geared to start the next phase of vaccination for older people, defense personnel and other field workers.The Financial Commissioner was apprised about the arrangements made for COVID-19 vaccination by the institution. He also said that the institution is strictly following the guidelines set by Govt. of India for COVID Vaccination. It was given that the hospital has kept the observation room adjacent to the vaccination lab and a resuscitation room available in case of any emergency. It was also said that a team of doctors has also been constituted to be present round the clock for any post vaccine emergency.The administration of the hospital put its gratitude to Financial Commissioner for including their hospital in the list of vaccination centers and providing all possible support for managing COVID-19 disease. It was said that the hospital will provide vaccination first to health workers and then to others as per government programme.Later on the FC along with the team of the health department comprising of Director and Dy, CMO, Jammu took a round of the hospital to see the COVID Center. The team also visited Covid-19 testing Laboratory and other facilities provided by hospital to the patients there.
