To ensure stabilization of rates and availability of essential commodities in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat along with ASP, Mohammad Yousuf today conducted market checking in the district.On the occasion the DC said that market checking is being intensified in all Tehsils to ensure stabilization of market rates and availability of essential commodities including vegetables.He said the shopkeepers are directed to keep Government approved rate lists displayed in their shops and warned strict action against erring shopkeepers for violating the Food Safety and Standard Rules.Meanwhile, DC has appealed to the general public of the district to bring into the notice of Administration if they find anyone indulging in overcharging of essential commodities for immediate necessary action.The District Administration has also designated different market checking teams headed by concerned Tehsildars who carry regular inspections of markets, petrol pumps to inspect the availability of essential commodities and check arbitrary price hike in markets.
