DC Kulgam visits several areas of Noorabad, chaired meeting of officers at D H Pora

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today conducted extensive tour of  various areas of Noorabad  in Kulgam to monitor the snow clearance operation, restoration of essential services besides availability of essentials in these areas.He visited K. B. Pora, Nihama, Aharbal, watoo, Gopalpora Mangzgam, D. H. Pora and other areas.

During his visit he interacted with people and enquired about the availability of essentials in these areas.He also inspected ration sale centers and conducted market checking in these areas.He directed the officers to ensure regular market checking to curb black marketing, profiteering and hoarding.Later he chaired a meeting of officers at  Block complex  D.H.Pora and took a detailed review of progress made so far in restoring essential   services and took stock of availability of essentials in the area.The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, Tehsildar DH Pora and other officers.

During the meeting, he instructed all concerned departments to remain alert and provide all essential service in the area and ensure that people do not suffer at any level.Later, while speaking to media persons here at DH Pora, DC said  that out of total 441 roads, snow clearance from majority of roads have  been completed and snow clearance operation  on pending roads is  in progress.The DDC informed that 2 snow cutters along with other snow clearing machines are carrying out snow clearance operations in the district and  soon all roads of the district will be cleared.He added that electricity has been restored in all parts of the district and all receiving stations are functioning properly.He also said that 18408 quintals of rice have been dumped at  different dumping centers.It was informed that 233700 liters of Diesel and 174300 litres of petrol while 6827 LPG cylinders are also   available in the district.DC said that 252 structures damaged so far and concerned have been directed to conduct damage assessment of these structures.He added that control rooms are also functional at all levels and people can also contact the concerned tehsildars and other concerned for any assistance at any time.
