Harmanbir Singh Gill Senior Superintendent of Police Moga informed that Moga Police has arrested the main accused persons in the kidnapping of a two-year-old boy from Ludhiana.He said that a two-year-old child Vinamr Gupta s/o Pankaj Gupta was kidnapped from Ludhiana on 01.12.20, around 01:45 pm, by one Harjinderpal Singh s/o Buta Ram R/o Mankwal Distt, Ludhiana (who worked as a driver with the kidnapped child's family) on a car Swift Dzire colour white bearing number PB 10 FL 8134. A ransom of Rs. 4 crores was demanded in exchange for the child.Regarding this FIR no 215 dated 01/12/2020 u/s 364A, 369, 342, 506, 381 IPC PS Dugri was registered on the statement of the father of the kidnapped child Pankaj Gupta S/o Late Prem Kumar R/o H.No 502-F, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar, Ludhiana.Meanwhile, it got known that the kidnapper has escaped from Ludhiana and entered Moga district. Immediately, the Moga Police sounded an alert all across the District and all entry/exit Nakas, patrolling parties including RRPRS/PCR vehicles were mobilised to conduct effective checking of vehicles. All GOs of the district sprung into action and started area dominance while ensuring the suspected car and its occupants are caught at the earliest. Due to the pressure mounted by the police, the accused persons left the car in Kot Ise Khan area and escaped with the child. The police force of the district maintained its vigil throughout the night to catch hold of the accused persons.Due to sustained and unrelenting efforts by the district police, the accused persons left the kidnapped child Vinamr Gupta alone in a car VW Polo bearing number HR 05 AF 0908 parked near Dagru Railway crossing on the morning of 02.12.20. The patrolling team of SHO Sadar SI Nirmaljit Singh immediately rushed to the spot to secure the custody of the kidnapped child who was later handed over safely back to his family members.Moga police have further made significant inroads into the case with the arrest of two accused persons viz.

Harjinderpal Singh is a habitual criminal offender with multiple cases registered against him in the Various States. During the interrogation, the accused have revealed that they had earlier conspired to abduct Pankaj Gupta (father of the kidnapped child). But, due to his medical problems, he wasn't accessible. It was then that the accused decided to kidnap the child. Further interrogation of the accused persons is going on.
