VC SKUAST-J reviews progress of different faculties

Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, Prof. J. P. Sharma, reviewed the monthly progress of different ongoing developmental projects, functioning of various Divisions of Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Extension work being carried out in the different KVK’s, Research projects of Research Stations of SKUAST- and functioning of constituent units viz., Farming System Research, Megaseed, Fisheries etc.Professor Sharma stressed upon adoption of new technologies like Peri Urban Agriculture, Roof Top Agriculture, value addition with special reference to vegetable & floriculture, fragrance and flavours in medicinal and aromatic plants, development of innovation Centre, strengthening of landscaping, formulation of Farmers’ Producer Organizations, One village one commodity.He further took stock of the status of budget utilization under different components especially Prime Minister Development Fund, Creation and modernization of Research farms, development of recreational facilities including Wi-Fi in different Hostels, establishment of Integrated farming systems in different KVK’s.Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J stressed upon the formulation of course modules on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Processing, and Horticulture at an earliest for Entrepreneurship development in Jammu region.At the outset Dr. Deepak Kher, Director Planning and Monitoring, SKUAST-Jammu welcomed Vice Chancellor, Statutory Officers, Heads of Divisions, Head of KVKs and Research Station and also put forth the various issues to be taken up for the effective working and utilization of allotted budget.The meeting was attended by all statutory officers, Heads of different Divisions, KVKs, Research Station, PIs of various Research and Adhoc projects.
