Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma, on Friday paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 151st birth anniversary during a grand function organised by Gandhi Global  Family (GGF) J&K at Diwan-e-Aam Mubarak Mandi Jammu to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti.Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor called upon all Gram Panchayats to actively participate in Phase-III of ' Back to Village' program which would be a real tribute to the Father of Nation.  The event has began today as a mark of respect to an inspirational leader he said adding that the concept of Back to Village program has been developed based on ideology of Gandhism.Sharma said that Phase-III of 'Back to Village' program will be focusing on components like redressal of public grievances, prompt public service delivery and delivery of development at Gram Panchayat level.Advisor Sharma said that the philosophy as preached by the icon has more relevance in today's context and appealed the people especially the younger generation to imbibe the principles of Gandhian philosophy for living a blissful life.Advisor called on all '' to pay tribute to beloved father of the Nation by following his principles and imbibing his wisdom and thoughts". He stressed on the need of keeping our surroundings clean and maintaining a state of cleanliness in our everyday life which has become imperative in view of COVID-19 pandemic.

President Gandhi Global Family SP Verma, informed the gathering that about 150 relief camps have been organised by GGF with the help of its volunteers in the wake of present global crisis which benefitted over 30,000 souls.Later, the Advisor visited Panchayat Ghar Jandrah where in a relief camp was organized for distributing groceries and hygiene kits among 100 local needy families of the area. He appreciated the role of Gandhi Global Family (GGF) in organizing various relief camps in J&K especially in the times of COVID -19.Prominent among those who paid floral tributes to the Father of nation were GGF Executive member M M Joshi, Sarpanch Jandrah, Anil Sharma besides people from all walks of life.
