DDC Ramban flags off ‘Fit India Freedom Run”

District Development Commissioner,  Nazim Zai Khan today flagged off a   “Fit India Freedom Run’ organised by the department of Youth Service and Sports as part of the Fit India Movement.The marathon began from the premises of DC office and culminated at the Maitra Chowk. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the main aim of organizing such events is to engage the people especially youth in sports activities for their physically and mentally fitness.While appreciating the department, the DDC asked the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) to conduct more such events in future and encourage mass people’s participation to help them relieve the stress amid COVID pandemic.The DYSSO, Dhramveer Singh, informed that the “Fit India Freedom Run’ campaign commenced on 15th August and culminate on 2nd of October, 2020. Pertinently, ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ was organized as a part of Fit Indian movement, a nation-wide movement started in the year 2019 to encourage people to stay healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives.A large number of young runners participated in the ‘Fit India Freedom Run which was organised in all blocks of district.
