Status of languishing projects reviewed at Ganderbal

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today convened a meeting of officers to review progress of various ongoing languishing projects in the district.During the meeting, the DDC sought details of all ongoing languishing projects that are approved in the district and it was informed that 71 projects are approved under the languishing scheme out of which 13 projects are already completed and handed over to the concerned Departments.While among rest, several projects are at different stages of completion, out of which most of projects shall be completed in December, 2020.Detailed discussions were held on the issues hampering the progress on languishing projects that are under execution of several agencies including Jal Shakti, R&B, JKPCC, SICOP and Housing Board.While reviewing the physical and financial progress, the DDC impressed upon the officers to speed up the pace of work on these projects.Scheme wise timeline was fixed to ensure the completion of the languishing projects within the stipulated time frame.The DDC also stressed for judicious use of funds and transparency in execution of works taken up under various sectors in the district.The meeting was attended by SE PDD, Chief Planning Officer, Principal Polytechnic College, Principal Degree College Kangan, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakhti (PHE), PDD, JKPCC and R&B besides CMO and other concerned.
