The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has categorically rejected the initial recommendations of the Montek Singh Ahluwalia committee, which was set by the Amarinder Singh government to take navigate the cash-strapped state out of the economic crisis, terming it as an anti-Punjab step of the government.Interacting with the media here on Wednesday, senior party leader and MLA Aman Arora and Principal Budhram expressed their surprise over the Punjab government’s flip flop on the Montek Singh Ahluwalia committee, which, the alleged, advocated the anti-Punjab and anti-farmer policies of Modi government. They took  Chief Minister Amarinder Singh upfront to come clean whether or not he had buckled down by the pulls and pressure of the Modi government under political compulsions?Aman Arora said the initial recommendations of the Montek Singh Ahluwalia Committee were contrary to the ground realities of Punjab, asserting "The anti-agriculture ordinances brought in by the Modi government and the Central Power Amendment Bill 2020, which are being vehemently opposed on the streets of Punjab today, the Ahluwalia Committee is openly advocating them in its initial recommendations"The AAP leaders claimed that the initial recommendations of the Ahluwalia Committee gave sense that the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh government was preparing a ground for the implementation of the anti-Punjab and anti-agriculture ordinances pushed in by the Modi government at the centre through the Ahluwalia Committee. The AAP MLA said that if the Ahluwalia Committee had taken into account the ground realities of the state of Punjab, the first and foremost  recommendation it would have made to first crush the open ‘loot’ of a whopping Rs 25,000 to 30,000 crore annual through various mafias active in the state in cahoot with the political who’s who. They said that, on the contrary, the committee had advocated the cause of the private power companies and big corporate houses to be taken care of through the mafia rule active in the state. The AAP leaders warned that if the Punjab government did not desist from implementing the recommendations of the Montek Singh Ahluwalia Committee in the state under pulls and pressure of the Modi government at the centre, the Aam Aadmi Party would vehemently oppose it at all fora – from assembly to parliament.
