District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Mirza today chaired a meeting to finalise arrangements put in place for smooth celebration of Independence Day 2020.On the Occasion, DDC informed that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium Budgam and the function will begin with Shahnai Wadan followed by unfurling of tricolour by the Chief Guest.The meeting was further informed that the March past shall be presented by contingents of J&K Police, Auxiliary Police, CRPF and NCC besides there will be cultural programs by artists from NYK and Information Department.Regarding other arrangements the DDC directed the officers of R&B, PHE, PDD, Municipality, Information, Education, Police and other concerned to ensure fool proof arrangements well in advance.He reiterated that no leniency or reluctance from any corner in executing the assigned work will be tolerated.The DDC said a full dress rehearsal of preparation would be conducted at the prescribed venue on August 13, further it was also decided that function, related to independence Day will also be celebrated at SDM and at all Tehsil Headquarters besides BDC Chairpersons will also hoist tricolour at their concerned head quarters.The meeting among others was attended by SSP Budgam, Joint Director Planning, All SDM’s, CEO, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD and all concerned Tehsildars besides other concerned officers.
