Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has applauded the services of  frontline Corona Warriors Contributing to the Punjab Government's fight against COVID-19 under 'Mission Fateh' at Rajindra Hospital. Patiala Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit in a high level meeting with all the faculty of Government Medical College conveyed the message of  Punjab CM.  He said that the general public and the patients admitted here would have high faith in Rajindra Hospital as it was catering patients of more than 10 districts of Punjab at present.Mr. Kumar Amit said that the Chief Minister had expressed immense satisfaction that the doctors and other medical staff of Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala who had been working 24 hours a day to defeat the COVID-19 despite putting their lives at risk.In this meeting Mrs. Surbhi Malik in charge of Covid Care, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Nirmal Oseppachan, Principal  Dr. Harjinder Singh, Medical Superintendent  Dr.  Paras Kumar Pandav and  Heads of all departments were present.

 The Deputy Commissioner said that all the doctors would have to be ready for the next level of battle to be waged against COVID as the testing capacity in Patiala district was now being increased from 800 to 2200 per day by various means.  He said though this would increase the number of cases but we would have to be ready by making functional MCH building.  The ICU ward has also been shifted to 5th floor from existing 8th floor and number of beds has been increased from 32 to 83 in ICU and at the same time the super specialty block of the hospital will also be used for COVID care. Mr. Kumar Amit asked all the Heads of Departments of the Medical College to lead their senior and junior residents to treat the patients in a better way while avoiding contract COVID infection themselves as the next three months would be more challenging for us.Encouraging the doctors, the Deputy Commissioner said that this dreadful time could only be overcome through mutual co-ordination, so they should come up with a strategy to come forward for the better qns effective treatment of COVID patients.  On this occasion, all the doctors assured that they would treat the patients with utmost dedication towards their profession so that we can all be victorious in the battle that is being fought against COVID.
