DC Kupwara finalises I-Day arrangements

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened a meeting of officers to finalise arrangements put in place for smooth celebration of Independence Day 2020.The meeting was informed that the main function shall be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara and the function will start with Shahna-i-Wadhan early in the morning.The meeting was further informed that the National Flag will be hoisted by the Chief Guest followed by March Past, to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Forest Protection Force, Home-guard and Fire and Emergency Service.The meeting also discussed threadbare various other arrangements including security, seating arrangement, water supply, healthcare facilities, availability of fire tender, installation of Public Address System, transport, electricity, sanitation, conducting of cultural programmes and deployment of magistrates.The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure hassle free and fool proof arrangements with proper coordination, he also stressed upon them to follow strictly the COVID-19 containment SOPs and ensure use of masks and sanitizers.The meeting was informed that the final review of arrangements will be taken in a meeting which shall be held on August 10 at 11 AM in D.C. Office Kupwara.Among others, the meeting was attended by DIG, BSF, Sector Headquarter Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, ASP Kupwara and Handwara, SDM Lolab, DPO, CMO, DIO, Executive Engineers of various wings, Incharge Cultural Wing, Education Department, Tehsildars and other concerned.Meanwhile, SDM Karnah, has convened a meeting of concerned officers and finalized the arrangements for celebration of Independence Day in the sub division.
