Manodarpan: DSEJ nominates District, Zonal Counselling Coordinators

Directorate of School Education Jammu today took a pioneering step towards Quality Initiatives under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Manodarpan) by nominating District and  Zonal Counselling Co-ordinators to coordinate various counselling activities in respective districts of Jammu Division to provide psychological support and counselling to students,  teachers, parents and members of community for mental health and emotional well-being.hese DCCs and ZCCs with psychology education background will play crucial role in  awareness, in information dissemination and on ground implementation of these initiatives.Manodarpan is an initiative of MHRD to provide psychological support and counselling  to students, teachers and families for mental health and emotional well-being.Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, while highlighting the importance of DCCs and  ZCCs, said that in view of Covid-19 pandemic, new forms of mental health concerns have emerged especially in kids, adolescents and specially abled children. So, educators  with psychology background can play a crucial role in disseminating information about counselling/ well- being initiatives by HRD and Counselling Cell DSEJ at zonal level.Head  counselling cell, Romesh Kumar, divulged  that counselling cell DSEJ has already taken a lot of counselling initiatives like  constitution of counselling cells in DIETs and Schools ,  starting Aao Baat Karein Telecounselling Helpline, constitution of psychological task force , issuance of Annual Counselling Calender, series of webinars during this covid-19  pandemic time  beforehand, which are very much in line with objectives of Manodarpan.It is pertinent to mention that Psychological Task Force consisting of teachers having PG  in Psychology has already been constituted by DSEJ   and were trained online to brush up their counselling skills by Counselling cell DSEJ in collaboration with Bhartiya  Counselling Psychology Association. These nominated counselling coordinators will work in close coordination with DNOs at DIETs and counselling Cell DSEJ.
