Chandigarh based a private company NAMCO, presented UV Sterilizer to the office of Divisional commissioner, Patiala, Chandar Gaind for sanitization of office files, documents and stationery used by the officials.Mr. Chandar Gaind while appreciating the efforts of the MD Himanshu Khosla, said that these days we need to take utmost care of office staff to prevent them from COVID infection. Though we have been asked to minimal use of paper files but this new system may be helpful in scaling down the risk of infection. He said that we would use this UV sterilizer on experiment basis and after that it would be decided to recommend for other offices. MD Mr Khosla said that the UV steriliser box uses ultra violet germicidal irradiation principle by using UV lights to kill (99.9%) micro-organism within 5-10 minutes and it therefore stops surface to human transmission of viruses.
