DDC Bandipora reviews Covid containment measures in Sumbal

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed today reviewed the measures taken by the district administration to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Sonawari Sub Division.Deputy Commissioner reviewed the steps taken by the administration in Sumbal Sub -Division to contain the spread of coronavirus and it was informed that strict lockdown has been imposed in Sumbal town for 48 hours after service providers were detected COVID positive.The meeting was further informed that under Hifazat Campaign, various departments are sensitizing people about the precautionary measures to be taken to avert the spread of Covid-19 besides intensifying fumigation drives to sanitize public places, distributing hand sanitizers, masks and reading material including brochures, leaflets, regarding do’s and don’ts among the people.The DC said that the use of masks has been made mandatory in the district and directed concerned officers to implement the order strictly on ground and impose fine on the people who refuse to wear masks.He said the use of masks has become very important in the current scenario besides maintaining other health hygiene and social distancing.Dr Owais also directed the concerned officers to follow the directions of government and spread awareness regarding maintaining social distancing and other precautionary measures.Among others, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmed Lone, SDPO Sumbal and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
