De-weeding and Skimming operation on full swing in Nigeen Lake

Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has cleaned the Nigeen Lake also a part of Dal Lake from unwanted weeds and other floating material.The de-weeding and skimming of Nigeen Lake was taken in hand by LAWDA from 27th of May 2020 and the manual  de-weeding and skimming up to 45 mtr from the shore of Nigeen lake was divided into two  sections the Eastern side and the Western side to streamline the cleaning process.Apart from above mentioned sections, three more sections namely Khujyarbal periphery, Pokhribal periphery and Ashaibagh periphery have also been taken into hand for de-weeding and skimming to restore its glory.A total of 2210 labourers were employed for de-weeding process while 520 labourers conducted skimming work besides the quantum of weed removed is 3536 cum and the 104000 sq meters of skimming of lake area has also been achieved.
