District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today inaugurated Kisan Pakhwada here.Speaking at the occasion, the DDC said that the Kisan Pakhwada has been launched with an aim to reach out to the farmer community for cent percent implementation of centrally sponsored PM Kissan, KCC and other farmer welfare schemes.He said as many as 87000 farm families are operating in the district and the district administration has already started activities to cover cent percent target under the KCC scheme with coverage of 1.02 lakh cards issued to farmers so far.The DDC said that apart from providing high yield variety seeds of paddy, maize, pulses and vegetables to the farmers, honey rearing, mushroom and red rice cultivation is also being promoted in the district to ensure that the basic income of farm community gets enhanced and 8 teams have been constituted to monitor the activities of Kisan Pakhwada.On the occasion, DDC handed over sanction of loan in favour of 5 KCC beneficiaries that include 3 dairy unit holders and 2 crop loan beneficiaries.Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Chief Agriculture Officer, CAHO, DSHO, AD Fisheries, LDM Kupwara, SDAOs, District Head Grameen Bank, DIO and other concerned were present on the occasion. Kisan Pakhwada was also inaugurated at Handwara sub division where ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir presided over the inaugural function.He stressed upon the field functionaries to visit every village and ensure that no farmer is left behind from availing benefits under KCC.Kisan Pakhwada was also inaugurated at Sub Division Tangdar and Sogam, where Sub Divisional Magistrates inaugurated the function.The functions relating to Kisan Pakhwada shall continue till July 21 across the district.
