COVID-19: 13 CRPF men, 2 cops among 246 test positive in J&K, tally climbs to 8675 Recovery rate reaches 61.30 percent in J&K

The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir has mounted to 8675 as 246 fresh cases including 13 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men, two policemen and a soldier were detected in the Union Territory on Monday.Official figures reveal that among new cases, 104 were tested positive at SKIMS, 52 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals.Among 246  new cases, 210 belong to Kashmir division while as 36 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 6866 including 4013 recoveries and 124 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1809 including 1305 recoveries and 14 deaths.They said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3219 including 2729 from Kashmir division and 490 from Jammu division.With 63 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 5318 which is 61.30 percent of the total cases."Cases tested positive in J&K include 65 from Srinagar, 49 from Kulgam, 41 from Baramulla, 12 from Shopian, 01 from Anantnag, 03 from Kupwara, 34 from Pulwama, 3 from Budgam, 01 from Bandipora and one from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 36 from Jammu division include 06 from Jammu, one from Udhampur, 5 from Kuthua, 03 from Ramban, 13 from Samba, 01 from Poonch, 04 from Rajouri, 02 from Rajouri and 03 from Reasi," officials disclosed.Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 1268 samples tested at SKIMS on Monday, 104 samples were tested positive.He said 104 new cases include 47 from Kulgam, 34 from Pulwama, 05 each from Budgam and Baramulla, 02 each from Anantnag and Srinagar and one each from Bandipora, Kupwara and Shopian.Dr Farooq Jan Medical Superintendent at SKIMS told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 104 patients include 13 from different CRPF battalions and one army man of 9 RR Kulgam.

Dr Reyaz Untoo, Principal at JVC Bemina said that out of 488 samples tested at SKIMS Bemina (JVC) 52  including 37 from Srinagar and 15 from Shopian were tested positive. He said that among 15 patients from Shopian, two are from Police station Zainapora .He added that 16 more patients were discharged from hospital after their complete recovery, taking tally of discharged patients to 569 while as 107 are undergoing treatment at the hospital.He further added that 20 normal deliveries were managed and 30 major surgeries were conducted at hospital till date.As per officials figures, 1216 positive cases including 33 deaths and 445 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1064 including 26 deaths and 450 recoveries are from Baramulla, 908 including 598 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kulgam, 861 including 13 deaths and 615 recoveries are from Shopian, 721 including 11 deaths and 564 recoveries are from Anantnag, 607 including 435 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Kupwara, 572 including  267 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Pulwama, 489 including 281 recoveries and 10 death are from Budgam, 308 including 281 recoveries and 03 death are from Bandipora, 120 including 77 recoveries and 01 death are from are from Ganderbal.In Jammu division, 403 including 305 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Jammu district, 291 including 207 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 254 including 190 recoveries and 01 death is from Kathua, 239 including 187 recoveries are from Ramban, 199 including 120 recoveries from Samba, 125 including 114 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 128 including 01 death and 69 recoveries are from Rajouri, 93 including 60 recoveries and 02 death are from Doda, 48 including 32 recoveries are from Reasi and 29 including 21 recoveries are from Kishtwar.As per the daily information bulletin, 299,748 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,157 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3219 persons are in hospital isolation while 47 persons are under hospital quarantine.According to the bulletin, 209,410 persons have completed surveillance period and 46,777 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 406,212 samples are available.Out of 406,212 the number of samples tested negative stands at 397,537 while as 8675 have been tested positive, among them 3219 are active and 5318 persons have recovered and 138 persons have died—(KNO)
