The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu today handed over a grant of Rs. 5 lakh for the purpose of carrying out the repairs of streets and drains of  village kambala.While handing over the cheque to the village panchayat, the minister said that this grant has been given out of the discretionary quota of the Lok Sabhs MP from  Sri Anandpur Sahib Mr. Manish Tewari. He further said that the focus of the Congress Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is on the  overall development of the villages.He further reiterated that despite the corona virus pandemic, no dearth of grants would be allowed to hamper the development centric works in  the state. He described the sound condition of the streets and drains as the foremost condition for the overall progress so as to ensure the easy movement and transportation of  people and goods.He also added that when the people of village kambala brought the matter of bad condition of the streets and the drains to his notice, he immidiately got the  grant sanctioned from MP Manish Tewari. He also reiterated that he is fully committed to the development of Mohali constituency.Coming to the healthcare facilities, the minister  said that the State Government is dutybound to provide top notch healthcare amenities to the people of the State and is focussing on the strengthening of the healthcare  infrastructure.In another important announcement, the minister said that providing major relief to the patients suffering from haemophilia, the government has started the treatment  of the haemophilia patients in the 18 integrated care centres. Earlier, the patients suffering from it had to shell out Rs. 18-80 lakh annually for the treatment. Now, this entire cost  would be borne by the State Government and the registration of the patients has begun.He also divulged that in Mohali , the first such patient has been treated at the integrated  care centre for haemoglobinopathis and haemophilia of the District Hospital, with anti-haemophilic factor-8.He exhorted the people to wear masks when going out or cover their  face with cloth or a hankerchief and maintain social distance.Among others present on the occasion included the Political Secretary to the minister and the Chairman Market  Committee Kharar Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Sarpanch of kambala Amrik Singh, Gian Singh, Roshandin, Rajwinder Kaur, Balwinder Singh (All Panches), Nirmal  Singh, Nachhattar Singh, Sher Singh, Gurdhiyan Singh Durali and Dharampal Singh.
