1000 Volunteers Assisting Jalandhar Commissionerate Police In Strict Enforcement Of Curfew Get Special T-Shirts

1000 volunteers who have been assisting the commissionerate Police in strict enforcement of curfew, received special designed T-shirts on Monday.Interacting with the youths during the flag march, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, said that these volunteers were roped in for assisting the Police in enforcement of curfew and facilitating the people on the other.They said that these youths were given special designed T shirts carrying logo of volunteer and logo of Punjab Police, which distinguish them both from the cops and the general public.Both the officers said that these youths were deployed at the key points with 1600 cops who were already on duty to enforce the curfew.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that these volunteers were given basic training at the local Police lines and were pressed into service so as to give some relaxation to the cops who were on duty 24X7 since the curfew has been imposed.They said that these volunteers were carefully selected after their screening and verification at the Police station level.Both the officers said that the district Police and civil administration was leaving stone unturned for ensuring that the curfew was imposed effectively to combat Covid 19.Meanwhile, they led the flag march from various areas of the city including BMC Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk, Guru Ravidass Chowk, Model House, Ghas Mandi Chowk, Kala Sanghia Road, Basti Shiekh, Babu Jagjivan Ram Chowk, Dilbagh Nagar, Basti Guzan, Basti Nau, Football Chowk, Basti Adda  Chowk, Jyoti Chowk and Circuit House.
