The Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government will soon achieve the Operation Fateh as the teams of health department are being made the aggressive efforts to trace the high and low risk contacts of COVID-19 patients across the State so as to prevent the spread of corona virus among the populations.Giving details in the press communiqué, the Health & Family Welfare Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that there were 1762 COVID-19 cases have been reported till date and at present, health facilities are being provided to 1574 active cases. He highlighted that 11078 contacts were identified who came in contacts of COVID patients, of these cases 11056 have already been traced by the Helath department which is 99.9 percent contact tracing. He said that the dedicated teams of health department are tirelessly working to trace the every suspected person so that affected person should be put under treatment and testing process without any delay.Underlining the contact tracing report, the Health Minister said that 49.5 percent (5487) of the contacts were at high risk and 50.5 percent (5591) of contacts were at low risk. He said that 3.1% (340) of the contacts were hospitalized, 82.9% (9181) were put under home quarantined and 14 percent (1555) contacts had completed the quarantine period so far.He further said that out of the contacts traced (11056), 1.2% (128) were symptomatic (74 high risk and 54 low risk). Samples were collected in 63.1 percent (6972) contacts in which 3.4 percent (380) were found positive and 44.1 percent (4873) were negative out of the total contacts traced.  Lauding the Medical and para-medical staff, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that teams of Health Department is continuously working like warriors at the front line in this war and constantly providing the standardize health facilities to the patients whether they are in isolation centres or in quarantine centres. He said that now, quarantine centres are being established at the block level in all districts so that people should be kept under surveillance near to their villages.Revealing about the measure taken to ensure the health services, he said that instructions have been issued to all Civil Surgeons to ensure that apart from Govt. hospitals, all private health facilities to be functional and providing both COVID as well as non-COVID services to the patients.
