In recognition to the hard work being put by the frontline officers during duty amidst Covid 19, the District Red Cross Society today held a function, to commemorate World Red Cross Day, by felicitating the Covid 19 Warriors of the various departments. Presiding over the function the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that these officers of the various departments were the real heroes, who were putting all the efforts to safeguard the people from the scourge of the Corona Virus. They said that the Covid 19 pandemic has engulfed the entire world and was a global problem of today. Both the officers said that in order to save the people from this pandemic the state government has imposed curfew/ lockdown in the state.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that in this crisis the Covid Warriors may they be civil, Police or Health administration have played a commendable role. They said that these officers have rendered exemplary duty to serve the ailing humanity.
Both the officers said that today the head of entire humanity bows before these brave hearts who were working untiringly to save the human existence. The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that this function was a humble but befitting tribute to the heroic deeds of these warriors. They expressed hope that the hard work put in by these Covid warriors would be pivotal in saving millions of lives. Both the officers also said that the hard work of these soldiers would ever act as inspiration for the other officers to perform their duty diligently.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police honored Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal, Chief Executive Officer Smart City Dr. Shena Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ms. D Sudharvizhi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Harsimrat Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr. Harinder Singh, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Kashmiri Lal, Dr. Bhupinder Singh, Dr. Charanjeev and others.
