Lok Sabha Member from Jalandhar Chaudhary Santokh Singh and MLA Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku today said that they would take up the matter of setting up Covid 19 testing laboratory or any other nearby district with the Punjab government to expedite the process of sample testing of suspected Corona Virus cases.Chairing a meeting here at the District Administrative complex, the Member of Parliament and MLA lauded the efforts being made by the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar to save the city from scourge of the pandemic. They said that the entire globe was fighting the war against Covid 19, which has posed a huge threat to the entire humanity, and district was no exception to it. However, they said that under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the state government was leaving no stone unturned to save the district from this pandemic.The Lok Sabha Member and MLA said that Jalandhar administration has been doing a commendable job by ensuring aggressive testing of the patients but in the absence of any nearby testing lab, the administration was facing a lot of troubles. The MP and MLA said that they would personally take up the matter with the Chief Minister and Medical Education Minister to set up one such laboratory at Jalandhar or any other nearby district so that reports of the samples could be ensured at the earliest. They said that this was all the more important to tackle the spread of the Corona Virus at the earliest.Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police apprised the MP and MLA about the ongoing situation and the massive efforts put in place by the administration to check the spread of pandemic.On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer Smart City Ms. Shena Aggarwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Kaur Chawala, Medical Superintendent Dr Harinder Singh, Epidemiologist Dr Shobhna and others were also present.
