Renowned Dubai based philanthropist Dr. SP Singh Oberio today announced financial assistance to the tune of Rs.40 lakhs to various district administrations in Punjab to fight the deadly coronavirus. He said the virus has taken the state in its grip and difficult times are waiting ahead for the people of the state thus the financial help will go in long way to deal with the emergency situations.Dr. Oberio who is known for his social work said the fiancés will be released in the coming days to the Deputy Commissioners and police heads of various districts in state. ``The demands would be put forward by the district administrations and the financial help would be extended accordingly”, said Dr. Oberio reiterating that Rs.40 lakhs had been reserved for the cause.He further elaborated that the primary focus of the financial help was to purchase ration for the needy, for ventilators in government hospitals, masks, sanitizers and infrared thermometers. ``As we have local chapters of the Trust in each of the major city and towns, they will coordinate with the district officials and help with the purchase of the necessary commodities to deal with the emergency like situations:, said Dr. Oberio in the press statement issued here today.He further added that the Sewing teachers of the trust are preparing the masks to be distributed all over the state while he made an appeal to the people of the state to help the administration which is fighting the battle in the hard times. He said all should stay inside the homes as this was the only solution to stop the spread of the virus which once goes out of control would prove to be disastrous.
