One teacher for 85 students in Govt Primary School in Bandipora village

School lacks basic infra, has only three rooms to accommodate students upto class 5th

The Government Primary School in Zaban village of Chutimulla Bandipora is painting a grim picture of education sector with institute having only one teacher to teach students up to Class 5th.According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the parents whose wards are enrolled in the school said that the Government Primary School has total enrolment of 85 students, adding that only one teacher has been deputed to teach the students while other posts are lying vacant for a long.They said that the school also lacks the basic infrastructure and proper accommodation, saying that only three rooms are available at the schools to accommodate 85 students.Besides, the school also lacks toilet facility, washrooms, drinking water and playground. Talking to—KNO, the parents said that the there was no subject specific teachers in the school. "Our wards enrolled in the school are facing immense hardships,” Abdul Gani, one of the parent said, adding that many parents have so far decided to enroll their wards to other schools.“We appeal to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to look into the problems and direct the concerned authorities to get them redressed at an earliest,” said Abdul Rahim Khan, a local said.Zonal Education officer (ZEO) Bandipora, Muhammad Maqbool told –KNO that two teachers have been deputed to the school. However, he was in hurry to drop the phone without divulging the other details—(KNO)
