District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar, today chaired a meeting of the Officers and Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control to review the progress of ongoing & languishing projects under execution in the district.The DDC directed the concerned engineers to speed up the pace of work and complete the projects within the time frame.He asked the engineers to conduct awareness campus at village level to motivate the villagers for contributing 5% cost of JJM, which aims at making water conservation a public movement through asset creation and Extensive Mission Mode Water Conservation Campaign.Under the campaign officers, ground water experts and scientists from Government of India will work together with district officials in water stressed districts for water conservation and water resource management.He asked the officers to ensure submission of action plan to his office under JJM by 15th of March 2020 and directed for completion of works taken up under Back to Village Programme within given timeframe.

The SE Hydraulics informed the meeting that against the targeted 17 habitation, eight habitations will be completed by the end of March 2020 which includes 4 at Guridraman, 2 at Adigam and 1 each at Walarhama and Hardtoor. He also informed that out of 894 habitations, 543 habitations have been covered fully, 307 partially while 44 habitations have not been covered yet. It was given out that under MNP Sector, 09 WSS having 17 habitations costing Rs 17.07 crore with a population of 31914 souls, 08 habitations will be completed by the end of 2019-20. Similarly, under NRDWP, 62 Schemes under execution in the district with 306 habitations, 79 habitations with a population of 98715 souls have been targeted for completion by the end of 2019-20.The Executive Engineer, Flood Control informed the meeting that work is under progress on beautification of Aripath Nallah which will be completed by the end of March.SE Hydraulics, JD Planning, Executive engineers and AEEs of PHE, I&FC and other concerned, attended the meeting.
