Addressing a massive public meeting at Takkipur in Kangra district today after inaugurating Government Degree College Takkipur completed at a cost of Rs. 6.50 crore, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was committed to provide quality education to the youth in the state, so that Himachal Pradesh emerges as a frontrunner state of the country in the field of education. He also announced renaming of this college as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Degree College, Takkipur.Chief Minister said the state government has ensured uniform and balanced development of every area of the state and welfare of every section of the society during last two years. He said that the people of the state showered their blessings on the state government by ensuring victory of BJP candidates in all the four parliamentary seats of the state with a huge margin. He said that not only this, the BJP created a history by maintaining lead in all 68 Assembly Constituencies of the state. He said that the BJP also won both the seats in state assembly bye elections by a record margin.Jai Ram Thakur said that the Nation today was being led under the strong and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and India has regained its old glory. He said that even the leaders of most powerful nations of the world have now acknowledged the strong leadership of Narendra Modi. He said that abrogation of Article 370, was possible due to the strong political will power and today India is 'One Nation with One Constitution and One Flag'.He said similarly, the decision regarding Triple Talaq was also a historic one, which has ensured empowerment of Muslim women. He said that the Prime Minister has constituted ‘Sri Ram Janambhumi Tirtha Kshetra Trust’ for construction of magnificent temple of Lord Rama at Ayodhya. He said this would help in fulfilling the religious sentiments of crores of people of the country and abroad.
Chief Minister said that the very first decision of state government to reduce the age limit for availing old age pension without income limit from 80 years to 70 years. He said the government was not working with any tendency of vendetta and vengeance against political opponents. He said the opposition leaders have nothing to say against the present state government and were raking up non-issues in a desperate bid to remain in news.Jai Ram Thakur also thanked the 15th Finance Commission for being considerate towards the developmental demands and aspirations of the state. He also thanked the union government for sanctioning developmental projects worth over Rs. 10500 crore for the State. He said that it was possible due to love and benevolence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the people of the state. He said that Prime Minister considers Himachal Pradesh as his second home, which was a matter of pride for people of the state.Chief Minister said that Kangra was the biggest district of state and the state government was committed for its development by leaps and bounds. He said that work on four-laning projects in the district would be taken in hands soon to ensure better connectivity in district, so that it could emerge as a major tourism destination. He said that efforts were being made to expand Gaggal Airport, so that big planes could land there. He said that this airport, would prove a boon for the tourism industry in the region.Chief Minister said that HimCare, Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Sahara Yojna, Jan Manch, Chief Minister Sewa Sankalp Yojna 1100, Social Security Pension, Kaushal Vikas Yojna etc were proving a boon for people of the State.Chief Minister announced a Sub Division of Jal Shakti Vibhag for Ranital, besides Junior Engineer Section at Thakurdwara. He also announced upgradation of Primary Health Centre Tayara to Community Health Centre. He also announced that science classes would be started in Degree College Takkipur. He said that Government High School Takkipur would also be upgraded to Government Senior Secondary School. He said that Degree College Matour would be strengthened.Jai Ram Thakur said that a bridge costing Rs. 5.82 crore would be constructed over railway line in Kangra Assembly Constituency to be funded under NABARD. He said that Rs. 17.78 crore would be spent under Jal Jivan Mission in Daulatpur of Kangra Assembly Constituency. Various social, cultural, political and religious organisations honoured the Chief Minister, on the occasion.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated administrative block of Government Polytechnic College Kangra completed by spending an amount of Rs. 5.54 crore. He also inaugurated lift facility of Bachat Bhawan constructed at cost of Rs. 30 lakh and laid foundation stones of Revenue colony Kangra to be completed at a cost of Rs. 3.61 crore and of additional accommodation to PWD Rest House Kangra at a cost of Rs. 67.43 lakh.Jai Ram Thakur performed Bhumi Poojan of upgradation of Kangra to Ghalian via Rajal, Bohar Kawalu road to be completed by spending Rs. 15.20 crore, Matour to Kohala Uprehar road at a cost of Rs. 2.24 crore and Bhumi Poojan of Ichhi, Sahoura, Pag Dodan Tyali, Abdulapur, Zamanabad, Kangra roads to be completed and upgraded at a cost of Rs. 2 crore. He also preformed Bhumi Poojan of link road from Kotkawala to Zamanabad road to be completed by spending Rs. 1.49 crore.He laid foundation stone of Health Sub Centre at Jalari at a cost of Rs. 30.52 lakh. He performed bhumi poojan of link road from Katwal Lahar to Ruhalkar to be completed by spending Rs. 3.25 crore, bhumi poojan of improvement and widening of Dughial Janyankar, Rah-Har Jalari road at a cost of Rs. 1.80 crore, bhumi poojan of road from Gram Panchayat Dhamer Dundni Bagg to Ghatta to be completed at a cost of Rs. 1.18 crore, bhumi poojan of improvement and upgradation of Dhundni Bagg to Ghatta, Dhamer, Kulthi road to be completed at a cost of Rs. 2.23 crore. He also inaugurated Katwal Lahar to Ruhalkar road completed by spending an amount of Rs 3.25 crore.Former MLA Surender Kaku also spoke on the occasion and detailed various developmental demands of the area.Former MLA Sanjay Chaudhary said that the pace of development of Kangra Vidhan Sabha area has gained momentum during the tenure of the state government.President Himachal Pradesh Basketball Association Munish Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries on the occasion. He also presented a cheque of Rs 1,01,000 to the Chief Minister as contribution towards Chief Minister Relief Fund.Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, Industries Minister Bikram Singh, Vice Chairman State Planning Board Ramesh Dhawala, MLAs Rakesh Pathania, Arun Kumar, Ravi Dhiman and Vishal Nehria, District President Chander Bhushan Nag, BJYM State President Vishal Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Kangra Rakesh Prajapati, SP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan were present in the occasion among others.
