As part of initiative launched by Government of India  to assess development scenario in J&K, Minister of State for Railways, Suresh C Angadi today held an interaction with the Block Development Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs of various blocks of Nagrota, Bishnah, Arnia and other border areas.Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore; DRM, Railways Rajesh Aggarwal; Transport Commissioner, J&K, Owais Ahmed and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Angadi said that the Central Government is committed to empower the Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRI's) as these are vital for development at grass root level.The Minister further said that the main objective of the interaction programme is to get first hand appraisal of public issues at the Panchayat level so that pace of development can be accelerated further in J&K. He added several measures have already been initiated in this regard and number of projects are in progress which will reduce the developmental deficit here.The Minister exhorted upon the participants to take benefit of all the schemes launched by central government for development of their respective areas. He asked them to establish skill development centres in their respective blocks so as to create employment opportunities for the local populace.On the occasion, the Sarpanchs and Panchs raised several developmental issues concerning their respective Panchayats before the Union Minister who assured them that these will be redressed on priority.
