The deputy commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday announced that complete overhaul of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Talwandi Madho village, around 31 km from district headquarters, would be ensured. Mr Sharma, who is also chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee alone with Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Mr Kulwant Singh said that no stone would be left to facilitate the students in this prestigious institute with high hopes.He directed the Public Works Department (B and R), Rural Development and Panchayat, Soil Conservation to prepare the estimates of new additional rooms, multipurpose Hall, toilet blocks, new chairs, installation of floodlights, rejuvenation of pond and others.Mr Sharma also announced the plantation of fruit plants in the school would be carried out.  The Deputy Commissioner also asked the Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla to ensure holding of quarterly medical camps of the students in the school.Further, Mr Sharma asked the PSPCL to shift the 11.KV-line near hostel building to other side keeping in view of the safety of the students.Further,The Deputy Commissioner also told DEO Secondary to ensure the holding of entrance exam of JNV to other schools.He also told that a solar roof panel would be installed in the school.Meanwhile, Mr Sharma also held a meeting with Vidyalaya's Principal Mr Ashok Kumar and assured him to take up the matter with higher authorities with the ministry of human resource development.The deputy commissioner also said that a new vehicle for ferrying the students would also be ensured to the school.Moreover, he also inspected smart classrooms, Food mess, playground, Lab and others.
