District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting with newly designated Panchayat Administrators of district Anantnag who were assigned to start the developmental activities in Panchayat Halqas where the Panchayat is functioning without Sarpanches/ Panches.76 Administrators were designated for the Panchayats in the blocks of Anantnag, Bijbehara, Achabal, Chittergul, Shangus, Qazigund, Vessu, Shahabad, Verinag, D.Pora, K.Pora, Breng, Larnoo, Sagam and Pahalgam blocks.The DDC emphasized upon the Administrators to work with zeal and dedication and ensure the execution of works at grass root level in order to change the rural developmental scenario. He also directed the BDOs and Administrators to ensure the construction of playfields, fencing of schools, construction of toilets, floor tile footpaths, concrete lanes / drains, conservation of water resources including old springs and nallahs on priority. He also directed to include 40% of the works highlighted in the “Back to Village” programme.The DDC also took detailed review of three RDD Blocks of Qazigund, Shangus and Sagam. He also directed the RD Department to ensure Sawchhta-Hi Sewa Abihiyan and asked them to involve the Departments of Health, Education, VLWs, GRS and other field functionaries and PRIs in the campaign. He directed them to upload the daily sanitation drive programme on the website at DC Office. He also directed them to ensure Ban on polythene and plastic, and to ensure the sanitation of all villages of all blocks, MC & TACs of Kokernag, Doru, Qazigund, Achabal, Bijbehara, Mattan, Seer Hamdan, Ashmuqam and Pahalgam.The meeting was attended by ACD Anantnag, EOs of MC Anantnag, TAC, Achabal, Bijbehara, Ashmuqam, Pahalgam, Mattan, Seer & Qazigund and BDOs of all blocks of the District.
